Will Drupal replace HTML editors?

Now this is something I did not expect, but I suppose it has some merit. Kurt Cagle at OReilly is suggesting editors like Dreamweaver are being "eaten" by Drupal. Wow. Have we reached the point in time where IDE's and CMS's become one product?

If you're not familiar with Drupal, it's claim is that you can build robust, dynamic, data driven social web applications and CMS's without knowing front end languages (HTML, JavaScript, etc), middleware languages(PHP, ASP, JSP, etc) or database languages (mySQL, SQL, etc). It's a grand statement---probably a bit to grand---but Drupal does allow you to access and organize the data in your CMS without needing to know the aforementioned engineering languages. That said, perhaps it's true.

However, I think its a ways off before Drupal can completely replace development IDE's. I for one rely on Dreamweaver for its code completion - something Drupal probably will never do. Regardless, it's an interesting point of view. Go Drupal!
